Voice lessons:
Emphasis is on learning to sing correctly, without tension. Building
vocal strength. Developing vocal range. Expanding an understanding
of intonation (singing in tune).
Finding your natural voice and choosing songs to sing that you love.
Piano lessons:
All ages are welcome. The basics are covered:
Rhythm, music theory, sight reading, composition and learning to play
the music you hear.
Studio rules are:
Be on time and ready to work. If a lesson time needs to be
changed, a 24 hour notice is required, otherwise the lesson time
must be paid for.
Jazz Singing Workshop with Nancy King
An emphasis on jazz singing that includes the study of intervals,
chords and scales; the study of rhythm and the proper use of the voice
as an instrument. Students will sing songs beginning with the
blues and moving on to jazz standards. Also, learn "jazz jam"
etiquette (i.e. how to begin and end the song, counting out the right
tempo, and which songs work best). Next Workshop: October 27,
November 3, 10, 17 & 24, 2008.
